Simply Sacred Summer Stroll at Forest Hills Cemetery
Join us for a Simply Sacred Summer Stroll on Saturday, July 4 at 10 AM at Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain. We will meet up, wearing masks, at 10:00 AM near the lake, for a group welcome and distribution of conversation guides and a map of some historical highlights at the cemetery. Since there are many abolitionists buried at Forest Hills, we’ll read Frederick Douglass’ famous Independence Day speech: “What to the American Slave is Your 4th of July?” Walking time will be spent in socially-distant pairs and trios, observing United Parish’s new COVID-safe outdoor event guidelines. Please preregister for this Sacred Stroll by email to email@example.com and we will send directions and the program guide. The rain date will be Sunday, July 5 at 2 PM.
