Lindsey Franklin is a second-year Master of Divinity candidate at Harvard Divinity School, and will serve as our Seminarian for 2016-7 at United Parish. She graduated from Middlebury College in 2007 with a degree in environmental studies and religion. Curious about the ways in which religious communities motivate and propel social change, she wrote her thesis on environmental activism in local Vermont churches. After working on various environmental and political campaigns in 2007 and 2008, she spent seven years in the San Francisco Bay Area working in progressive politics, technology and impact investment. Upon feeling the call to ministry a few years ago, she switched careers to come to Harvard Divinity School. Lindsey was raised in the United Church of Christ in Reading, and then Concord, MA, though now considers her beloved UCC in Middlebury, VT as her home church. She is considering UCC ordination, and is also fascinated by new forms of ministry and how a new generation is building spiritual communities outside church walls. She is looking forward to meeting you all.
