Haitian Relief Efforts

Haitian Relief Efforts

The United Parish Board of Outreach has voted to provide $2,000 to Partners in Health and $1,000 to Mercy Corps for Haitian Relief efforts. We will be meeting on the 31st to review if we need to spend more and where.

*American Red Cross has set up donations that can be made via texting the word "Haiti" to the number 90999.  The $10 is then added to the caller's next cell phone bill, with all proceeds going toward the relief efforts

 

HONOR REV. DR. KING WITH A DAY OF SERVICE

On Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, the United Parish will once again host City Mission Society's Rev. Martin Luther King Day of Service and Learning.  Volunteers from UCC churches throughout the Boston area will gather at UP for a kickoff ceremony where we will celebrate Rev. Dr. King and his dream for a new world.  Service Teams will then be transported to work on a variety of hands-on service projects.

Last Day Of Sunday School

This past Sunday (6/14/2009) was the last day of Sunday School for the church year. The young bible scholars celebrated by creating a large mural sized work of art that now hangs in the hallway of the church school. So kids have a good summer and we'll see you next fall

Eventful Pentecost Sunday Service! 5-31-09

Congratulations to our young singers upon completing 3 years in the choir. 

The young artists recieved a personal bible, hymnal and the joyful gratitude of the congregation. A wonderful cake lisiting their names was served afterwards at coffee hour. The young artists are:

CELEBRATE! AN ORGAN DEDICATION CONCERT

Save Sunday, May 17 at 7pm for the last event in the dedication of our historic
Skinner organ. Peter Sykes, music director of First Church in Cambridge, will perform a
special concert to show off our restored organ console at its finest. This concert will be
the culmination of at least five years of work to bring our notable Skinner organ back to
its original condition. It was described when first constructed as, “an organ well fitted
for use to the glory of God and the spiritual uplifting of all who hear it.” Come and help

EASTER EGG HUNT

10:30 a.m. -Griggs Park
(within walking distance of UP)
(In the event of rain, we will hold the Egg Hunt in Willett Hall.)
Bring a basket for collecting eggs.
Bring a snack or a drink to share.
This annual event is open for children through grade 2 only please.

Rite-13 Ceremony

On Sunday March 8, 2009, United Parish celebrated the beginning journey for ten young adults as part of it's Rite-13 program.
