National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk in Brighton
Walk for Mental Illness
United Parish's Mental Health Committee is organizing a team for the Massachusetts NAMI Walk for the first time this year!
You're probably wondering, what is NAMI, and what is the NAMI Walk?
-NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a nationwide, grassroots mental health organization that offers educational programs, supports, and has a toll-free helpline. It began in 1977.
-The NAMI Walk raises awareness about mental health care. The first walk was in 2002.
Its goals are simple and two-fold:
share our stories to eliminate stigma and raise funds to support the work of local NAMI affiliates.
Walk Details:
When: Saturday, May 20, 9am-1pm
Where: Artesani Park 1255 Soldiers Field Road, Brighton, MA 02135
