Stretching into Justice Ministry Team Meeting via Zoom
Help Us Create a Vision for Housing Affordability in Brookline
Are you worried about how expensive housing is in Brookline? Would you like to learn more about this challenge, and learn how to be part of the solution?
The Stretching into Justice Ministry Team invites you to a Zoom session on Wednesday, February 24 at 7pm for a little more than an hour, when some local housing activists – a group called Building a Better Brookline (BaBB) – will lead us in a visioning session to give us some new perspectives on this problem.
BaBB, a coalition which formed about 18 months ago, is holding visioning sessions like this in the first three months of 2021 with several groups in Brookline, including houses of worship, in order to bring them into an effort to create a stronger voice for policies that help make Brookline more affordable, welcoming, and diverse. BaBB wants to widen and change the conversation about affordable housing in our town, so they represent stakeholders from public housing, climate action, transportation, racial justice, and economic development.
They are reaching out to United Parish to learn from us what our vision for Brookline is, how the lack of affordable housing for so many affects our congregation, and to involve us in their work on this crisis.
You can learn more about BaBB at buildingabetterbrookline.org.
