We are doing things a little differently this year. Please note, the procedure has changed since last year and the year before. Please read the instructions (here) carefully. We invite you to pray, reflect and discuss your decision before following these steps. The total process can take under 10 minutes. If you need assistance, please contact email@example.com or call the Church Office at 617-277-6860.
Step 1. Make your financial pledge via this Google form or by clicking the green button above.
The responses to this form will go to our Stewardship and Budget Team. This information helps them plan for the year ahead. Please note, this form does not set up your donation(s). You will need to do that in Step 2.
Step 2. Make a plan to give.
When you are ready to implement your donations for FY22, you can give one of several ways:
- Mail a check(s) to United Parish.
- Set up a gift of stock or Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD).
No matter how you make your donation (through upbrookline.org, Realm, or by check or stock) our Assistant Treasurer will enter that information into the Realm database where you can access it and review the status of your giving continuously through the year. You can view your giving history at any time by logging onto Realm.
Step 3. Make your service pledge via this Google form or by clicking the green button above.
We realize that MANY of us give a tremendous amount of our time and talent to this community. In order to coordinate our overall ministry, our Discernment and Engagement Ministry Team and staff need to know how you pledge to give of your time and talent in the year ahead as well as the areas which you want to explore further. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Deadline to make your pledges is Thursday, May 20, 2021. We will celebrate together in virtual worship on Consecration Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Recurring gifts are encouraged to begin in July but may be added or amended at any point during the church year.
Our stewardship theme this year is inspired by an Anne Lamott book. To read our brochure about the Three Essential Prayers: "Help, Thanks, Wow!" featuring prayers from members of staff, ministry teams and the congregation, as well as photos from the past year, click here.
However you decide to pledge your service and finances this year, we say a BIG THANK YOU for your part in sustaining our beloved, vibrant community and enabling God’s work to thrive among us.

About Stewardship at United Parish
Church provides us with so many good things: community, a place to grow spiritually, opportunities to pause and reflect on what life is all about, ways to serve others and work for social justice. In order to offer these good things, churches, like all community and spiritual organizations, require the resources to employ a staff, maintain a building, sustain ministries and programs, and give back to the wider world.
Sharing our resources in common and giving generously are at the heart of the Christian faith.
Our Jewish sisters and brothers were instructed to give a tenth, or a tithe, of their possessions back to God (Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Leviticus 27:30-34, 2 Chronicles 31:5-12). Paul wrote the church in Corinth, "You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7, New Living Translation adapted).
Giving something back to God, usually by way of the causes that promote and do God-work in the world, is a spiritual practice, just like prayer, worship, meditation, Bible study, faith conversations, serving others.
United Parish, like many churches, has an annual stewardship campaign, in which we ask our members and friends to make pledges, annual commitments, with which we shape a planning budget for the fiscal year ahead (July 1-June 30). This is an important part of our common life together.
Thank you for your support of United Parish. May God bless all of us in our giving and receiving.
