Thrifty Threads is supporting four families who have shared some specific needs with organizations we have partnered with. We have passed along outfits for parents along with what we could to the children. It seems like there is also eagerness to receive books along with the clothing.
Growing Grandparents will begin a book discussion of Love is the Way: Holding on to Hope in Troubling Times by Bishop Michael Curry on March 3 at 10am...
The season of Lent is an ideal time to find new and creative ways to grow in faith and one’s relationship with God and others.
An update from one of our community partners, the Brookline Food Pantry:
Children in our PreK/K church school class are invited to come play at the church’s Memorial Park on Saturday, March 6 from 10-10:30am. This is a chance to build community, socialize, and have some fun! Families will have to fill out a health-screening form, and everyone must wear a mask.
Many people take on fasting as a spiritual practice during Lent. This means that they pick something special to give up or use less of, as a way of getting closer to God. Some people give up luxuries like chocolate or butter, or they may choose to keep a vegan diet for Lent.
During Lent, we invite you to join us on Tuesday evenings from February 23 through March 23 from 7-7:45pm for Lenten midweek worship on Zoom. Prepare your own meal at home and sit down with us for a worship service of prayer, contemplation and song.
Each year, we decorate the Sanctuary with flowers donated by individuals and families honoring or in remembrance of a family member or friend. Even though we cannot gather in person this year, we are continuing this beloved tradition.
Growing Grandparents will meet on Tuesday, February 16 at 10am via Zoom, sharing a "make-do" Mardi Gras morning - bright smiles and clothes, stories, and music. This small group is a place for active grandparents and other peers to share ideas and experiences during this special time of life.
