Update on United Parish Facilities Staff
All our facilities management staff is leaving
As you know from previous communication, our Facilities Manager Jaime Matheny’s last day will be this Sunday, March 15. We will offer a blessing for her in our online worship. You can send your own personalized notes to her here.
This past week, both our part-time Sextons, Daniel Schenk and Jade Fulford, gave their notices. It means that on March 28, none of these people will be working with us — just in time Holy Week (April 5-12). The reasons for these departures are varied and not connected.
Whenever we return to regular building usage, we will again have about 1,000 people coming through our building weekly, both for our own worship and programming and through dozens of outside building users who contribute to our annual revenue. With such high volume, we have high cleaning, heating, paper-good replacement and security needs. In recent months, we have had at least two regular, uninvited overnight visitors in the Sanctuary at least a dozen times. These usage and security challenges create heavy demands on our administrative staff.
Currently, our newly promoted and awesome Parish Administrator, Sarah Fitzpatrick and I are working with staff and our Buildings & Grounds Team, looking for temporary cleaning and building management staffing. We need your help.
How you can help:
• pray for the right people to come our way, this is a real prayer request. Let us make manifest in the world and to God what we need here at United Parish,
• offer us referrals of good candidates — or even make inquiries yourself and let us know about them and send people our way. We are interested in good people with a can-do attitude, who take initiative, are resourceful and have good follow-through,
• for the Facilities Manager position, we are primarily looking for good building management and supervisory ability, as well as the willingness and aptitude to do hands-on work. If you have good candidates in mind, please let Sarah know (firstname.lastname@example.org).

--Building monitoring for security during building user events
--Custodial tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and emptying trash cans
--Set-up and take down of furniture and materials for events
--Gardening and lawn work such as raking, pruning and watering
