Josaphat Contreras

Josaphat Contreras is a native of Alief Houston, Texas where he attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music. Since graduation, Josaphat taught private voice lessons to students in grades 7th through 12th until accepting a full time choir director position at Andy Dekaney High School in Spring, Texas. As a singer, he has had the opportunity to travel and perform in summer programs around the country and the world most notably Salzburg, Austria and Bogota, Colombia. As a church musician, he would like thank his church families at Wildwood United Methodist church and Calder Baptist church for the many opportunities given to him as well as his growth as a Christian.

He would like to thank his voice professor Michael Walsh who he owes much of his success to, as well as his family and friends. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and his two dogs Rufus and Delilah.
