This summer’s worship series features members and friends Reporting the Good News, however they see it in the world around them. We look to Jesus’ inaugural sermon (Luke 4:14-19) and Isaiah 61 for our guidance about what God’s kind of Good News looks like: liberation for all of us. Summer worship is at 10am in Willett Hall.
On July 21, we kicked off this series with a helpful sermon-conversation about how Jesus and Isaiah describe the Good News. And how we see it in the world around us, in contrast to how our media outlets sell us the news.
The next Sunday, we heard from 14-year-old William about how he experiences Good News knowing that God is always there, encouraging him and that this church community has his back.
And this last Sunday, we heard how Carolyn encountered Jesus in disguise, and herself became an angel when she helped a suddenly released, three-month ICE detainee make his way home.
This week, veteran preacher Michael will share an account about how “thy kin-dom came” to his family, helping promote healing and long-needed understanding.
With Michael, we’ll reflect together on one of the apostle Paul’s spiritual laundry lists about how we can more fully be followers of Jesus (Romans 12:9-17): loving genuinely and showing honor to one another.
Join us at 10am on Sunday in Willett Hall and online to sing, pray, and hear the Good News together. You may find your own personal healing you didn’t know you needed.
In faith,
Kent
