Praised for her “songbird voice” (The Berkshire Eagle) Emma West is a versatile Boston-based soprano who focuses her repertoire on both early and new music. As a young artist, Emma has begun an active career in the Boston music scene. In the Fall of 2025 she premiered the role of Miranda in Eric Sawyer and Ron Bashford’s new opera, The Onion, to which she was praised for her “great coloratura celebration” and acting (The Boston Music Intelligencer). She additionally performs frequently in recital and chamber settings, the latter with her soprano-viola duo Reflections with violist Vincent Francis. Other professional credits include supernumerary work for Boston Lyric Opera in La Cenerentola, featured ensemble in Don Giovanni for Boston Summer Opera’s inaugural season, and premiering the role of Queen Alice in Ted&Togo’s The Haunted Palace.
Emma is a proud aluma of Millikin University from which she holds B.M. in Vocal Performance. She holds a M.M. in Voice Performance from Longy School of Music and is a two-time aluma of Longy’s Divergent Studio. More information available at emmagracewest.com.
