Jim Smith, Accounting Administrator

Jim Smith

A classically trained musician, Jim comes to UPB from his most recent role as General Manager of the New England Philharmonic. Jim served nearly 20 years in higher ed. administration at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Jim is passionate about issues of social justice and anti-racism, immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ and women’s reproductive rights, and services for those experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder.

In addition to his work at United Parish, Jim also provides bookkeeping services to Brookline.News and Brookline for Racial Justice & Equity.

Jim splits his time between Boston and Provincetown. When he isn’t out discovering the joys of birding or playing handbells with the United Parish Ringers, he can be found immersing himself in classical music, art, and literature—or obsessing over cooking and sharing great food with good friends.
