The Children’s Choir (grades 1-6) rehearses most Sundays from September through May at 9:30am in the Choir Room. Directed by Susan DeSelms, the children receive musical and vocal training, learn new music, and regularly sing in worship for the congregation. They are a vibrant, welcoming, and delightfully musical group of children who are always ready to sing. While the age range is broad, it allows younger children to develop confidence and musical ability with the help and leadership of their older, more experienced peers. Parents should reach out to susan@upbrookline.org for more information.
The United Parish Children’s Choir is open to all children ages 6 to 12, with the occasional eager five year old. Children should be at least starting to read when they join the choir, as this choir includes a wide span of ages, but eager and motivated singers are always welcome to join us. In this fun and joyful ministry, children develop their musical ability, their singing voices, their confidence, their leadership skills, and they build lasting friendships while learning songs that ground them in faith throughout their lives. If your child hasn’t sung in the choir before, they can join us for the first couple of weeks just to try it out!
