Inquirer's Class

Three times each year, the United Parish holds an Inquirer's Class to give newcomers a chance to meet with our pastor and other church leaders to explore membership in the United Parish.

About Our Worship Service

The centerpiece of our worship life, the Sunday worship service, begins at 11 a.m. from September through June, and at 10 a.m. from the first Sunday in July through Labor Day. We serve communion on the first Sunday of each month.

The Rev. Pat Coughlin, our Senior Pastor, is the primary preacher during the church year. She's helped by Rev. Suzanne Bossert, our Associate Pastor, and guest preachers drawn from the congregation as well as from outside the church.

Participating in our Sunday Service

Worship services at the United Parish depend on the active involvement of our entire church family.

We rely on Lay Readers to lead parts of our liturgy, including the call to worship, a prayer (self-written or provided), and the first scripture lesson. We are currently looking for new readers. To serve as a Lay Reader, contact Pat Howkinson.

Our Ushers greet worshippers, distribute worship bulletins, collect the offertory, and serve communion. To become one of our ushers, contact Nancy Winterbottom.

Alternative Worship

From time to time, United Parish offers alternative worship experiences, such as weekday Advent or Lenten services, Taize, peace, or healing services. The Board of Worship welcomes your ideas for additional ways to meet the worship needs of our community.
