Since 1981, United Parish has opened our doors to the community for a free, family-style Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day at 1pm (doors open at 12:30pm). We’ll serve oven roasted turkey, traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, pickles, and olives. For beverages, we’ll have ginger ale, cranberry juice, lemonade, and apple cider. For dessert, we’ll have pumpkin pie, apple pie, and coffee and tea. We are well on our way to having our most impactful year ever. This quarter we are coming off our evening fall preview, which was a lovely event. In terms of the numbers, so far this year we have raised just over $121,000! September alone saw an income of just over $20,000, which is our best month ever. With this money we have spent just over $9,250 on charitable contributions and our monthly amazon order. The Chancel Choir, soloists, and chamber orchestra will present Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, Opus 48. There is an unbreakable spiritual bond between the living and those held in sacred memory. Celebrating All Souls’ Day is one of the ways that we pay homage to those who have gone on before us.
