We are launching a thank you card campaign to show our appreciation to our Thrifty Threads volunteers, most of whom are not members of the worshiping community at United Parish! There will be materials available at Coffee Hour each Sunday in February to write thank you notes, or you can write them on your own and drop off at the church by Sunday, February 23. For our Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday act of service, all ages are invited to gather in the Parlor at 9:45am on Sunday, January 19 to make 120 bagged lunches for our outdoor urban ministry partner, common cathedral. We will bless the lunches in our morning worship, and depart around 11:30am to serve at common cathedral (rain, snow, or shine!) Thrifty Threads sent out some of our final donations for 2024. We estimated sharing approximately 12.8 tons of clothing with our partner charities. In addition we have given musical instruments, and children’s books. We have purchased new diapers, socks and underwear for the groups we serve as well. This new year we are starting a Saturday knitting group to create hats. Experienced and new knitters welcome- just bring your positive energy.
