On Saturday, September 19 from 8:30-11:30am, we will hold a vision summit to honor the thorough discernment we have done over the past four years and help clarify our path forward. With consultants Kerri-Ann Hayes and Scott Pontier of Ministry Architects, we will build clarity and consensus through a fun, positive process. We hope to see a wide variety of people involved in this morning, kickoff session. Members of Council and UPLIFT will continue with the weekend-long process and help us produce three documents for our congregation’s future:
Everyone is welcome. Come help us set forth a vision for our church. For more information, contact Amy or Kent.
Come One, Come All – Everyone is invited to participate in the first three hours of our “Mission Sprint” on Saturday, September 19, from 8:30am-11:30am. Consultants from Ministry Architects will lead a process in which we, as a congregation, gather input and draft a mission and vision statement, strategic goals to implement it, and initial implementation plans for reaching those goals. This process will have the best results with the broadest input we can gather from the congregation. The first half of our six hours on Saturday will be devoted to gathering from congregants their input for the mission statement, strategic goals and implementation steps. Draft documents generated in the morning will be refined in subsequent meetings of smaller groups Saturday afternoon and Sunday after church.
The consultants invite us to prepare by thinking about:
Who do you think the church is called to reach in our wider community?
What’s important for the next chapter of our congregation’s ministry together?
A simple breakfast (likely bagels, muffins and fruit salad) will be available starting at 8am on Saturday in Willett Hall, and lunch will be served from 11:30am-12:30pm. Please RSVP here by the end of Wednesday, September 16.
If you have any questions, please talk with the pastors, officers or Michael McS. of our Mission Statement Team subgroup. Thank you!
