Are you new to United Parish? Whether you were church-shopping, church-curious, or church-hurt; a doubter, believer, skeptic, or anything in between, we know it takes courage to try out somewhere new for the first time – thank you sharing that courage with us! Join this class series to learn more about our history, values, and governance, explore what it means to become a member at United Parish, and get a tour of our building!
- Sunday, April 26, 12:30pm: Building tour (meet in the Marion lobby) A tour of the building after worship to help you get your bearings in our maze-like space and learn more about the programs and activities that happen here. We will start the tour at 12:30 in the lobby outside the church office. RSVP HERE
- Sunday, May 3, 12:30pm in the Parlor: Learning class – learn about us! In this class, you will have a chance to learn more about United Parish, our history and beliefs, the benefits/responsibilities of membership, and our governance structure. Childcare in the nursery can be provided with advance notice. RSVP HERE
- Sunday, May 17, 12:30pm in Willett Hall: Sharing class – help us learn about you! Members of our Discernment & Engagement team will join us for this class, in which we’ll get to know one another a little more closely, and share a snapshot of our faith stories thus far. Childcare in the nursery can be provided with advance notice. (Note: this class overlaps with a newly-scheduled big church potluck, so the plan is for us to just all gather at one table at the potluck and have our ‘class’ there!) RSVP HERE
If you decide to officially become a member of United Parish, we will celebrate with a special welcoming ceremony in worship on Sunday, May 31st.
If you cannot attend the classes, but are interested in learning more (or already know you’d like to join), please let Pastor Amy know so we can schedule a time to chat.
